Boil water with salt.To Ponkathir Rice Powder pour the required boiling water and mix thoroughly with continuous stirring.Knead well until the dough becomes soft.Extrude the prepared dough through sevanazhi an idiyappam steamer and cook till done.
Boil 1 cup (200ml) of water with 1/4 tsp of coconut oil and a pinch of salt.In to the boiling water,sprinkle 1 cup (200g) of Ponkathir rice Powder.switch off the flame and cover with a lid.After 1 minute put the warm mixture in a flat vessel and knead throughly until soft.Make small balls out of the soft dough and press in pathiri press.Grill pathiri without oil.
Boil 4 tsp of rava with 3 cups (600ml) of water to make a thick paste and keep aside.In to 500g Ponkathir Rice Powder,mix 2 cups(400ml) of coconut milk,1-1 1/2 cups(200-300ml) of water,4 tbsp sugar,1/2 tsp salt,1tsp yeast and the prepared luke warm paste and mix 1 minute in a mixie.Keep aside till the dough rises.(Fermentation period may vary according to the room temperature 25oC.Prepare delicious palappam.
